Handmade by the womens cooperative Mujeres del barro rojo in the small Zapotec village of San Marcos Tlapazola. These small pig dishes are shaped by hand. Texture and polish are created by using corn husks, leather, coconut shells and river stones. The pieces are then fired on an open flame until they get the desired colour. This beautiful clay can also be used for cooking on an open flame or in the oven.
Due to the handcrafted nature of these plates, each will differ slightly.
